Interpretation

Home Interpretation

Depending on your need, we provide simultaneous interpretation, consecutive and whispering interpretation. We provide interpreters for:

  • National and international conference,
  • Exhibits,
  • Airport meet-and-greet services,
  • Business centers.

Simultaneous Interpretation

In simultaneous interpretation, the interpreter renders the message in the target-language simultaneously while the message is being delivered.

Simultaneous interpreting is quickly becoming the preferred mode at a wide variety of events because it is much more efficient than other modes.

As this kind of interpretation is very demanding, a single interpreter can usually handle simultaneous interpretation duties only for up to 20 minutes. Any assignment exceeding this time limit would require two interpreters so that they can alternate and alleviate the work load.

Simultaneous interpretation requires the use of special equipment such as sound proof booths and interpreter consoles along with wireless headphones and microphones. It is mostly used in large meetings, conferences, speeches and group trainings.

Simultaneous interpreting tends to be more costly than other interpretation types due to the fact that additional equipment, technicians and more than one interpreter is involved. It however yields better results for the participants and provides a much better flow to meetings.

Consecutive interpretation

Consecutive interpretation is oral interpretation with pauses when an interpreter at first hears the source language phrase and then interprets it into the target language. This is a usual type of interpretation which is widely used at business negotiations, exhibitions, banquets, excursions and other official and non-official events.

Such type of interpretation do not require special equipments and is very effective when negotiations havea mobile character with a lot of traveling involved like working at industrial enterprises.

Whispering interpretation

Whispering interpretation can be carried out with or without any equipment, depending on the number of participants involved. The interpreter normally sits beside or amongst the participants and renders the translations of the content to the listeners simultaneously.

The electronic method of Whisper Interpretation involves the use of a hand-held transmitter and a receiver. The interpreter whispers into the transmitter and the client(s) hears the message through the receiver. The main benefits for this method are less disruption to others; the ability to reach out to more than one participant; and freedom of movement for the interpreter and customers.

To facilitate a smooth interpretation and to benefit target listeners and speakers, we would like to receive materials relating to the subject matter at least 2 weeks before any interpretation event. This can be very helpful especially when technical or industry or company specific jargon is used.
